Our Online Data Backup Service is delivered through a software program installed on the end-user’s computer. The user then tells the program what files to protect, and each night, at a configured time, (or instantaneously at the option of the user) Information Technology Group backs up any files that have changed since the previous backup.
Files are backed up to a global network of datacenters powered by the proprietary SOS Server and InfiniScale™ technologies. Data is compressed using proprietary SOS ShrinkRAP™ delta compression that ensures that only the changes made to files are sent over the network – dramatically reducing bandwidth consumption.
Incremental Backup
Traditionally, backup software recognizes altered files and uploads the new version as a replacement. Our software seeks out what files have been changed, what binary changes were made and uploads those changes only. This way, daily backups of large files are quick and easy.
Version History
We offer UNLIMITED Version history at no detriment to your subscribed storage—every version of every file is indefinitely stored in our datacenters. The deletion of your backed-up file(s) is never automated and can only be performed by the account holder.
Security
Information Technology Group Universal Online Data Backup Services features 3-tiered encryption for your data beginning with a 256-bit AES before transfer over a 128-bit SSL tunnel only to be further protected with a 1024-bit AES once the backup is stored—most of our competitors will encrypt your files once, before or after transfer. In addition, we do not simply save copies in the same location, we send a copy of your data to a completely different data center—all 10 of which are Tier III & IV rated, HIPAA compliant and SAS 70 regulated.
